Jackie's parents came for a week and one day we took them to the Ancient City, right near our
old
stomping grounds in Samut Prakan.  It's a wonderful place to check out many famous replicas.
Lots of animals and greenery.  Sounds like it might be cheesy, but it is actually done quite nicely.
Jackie's parents took us on an awesome dinner cruise run by the Mariott, where they were staying.
Nice joint.  Didn't feel a bit like Bangkok.  Clean and green; an exotic paradise amidst the cesspool
that is Bangkok. It was nice having a semi-tropical pool to visit. I thoroughly enjoyed spending time
with Jackie's parents as well. I was worried meeting them, but they made me feel comfortable.
Genuinely nice people.
Good thing, since I eventually moved back to the States and lived with them.
Thanx guys.
I had to go to the US embassy, which turned out to be the most bush-league building I've been to
in Thailand. I hate knocking the US (even if I do it semi-frequently), but I think that we could
afford something slightly better, being by far the biggest economy in the world. Prioritize a bit
of cash towards nice embassies and such. So while I maneuvered through our construction-site of
an embassy, Jackie and her parents visited the Grand Palace as well as other beautiful temples.
