Kanchanaburi, Thailand
Kanchanaburi is one of my favorite getaways in Thailand. It's a couple hours West of Bangkok, and it is a nice relief from the griminess of Bangkok. Mountains and trees. Not to mention, breathable air. I've gone there with a variety of friends - Joe, Tyler, Tana and Will - on a variety of occasions. Everyone has always seemed to enjoy themselves. My most recent ventures to Kanchanaburi were with my lovely girlfriend, Jackie, who quickly became a fan.

The floating market is on the way to Kanchanaburi, and is a good spot to get your tourism on.

They sell lots of fruit from their boats and some vendors actually cook food in the boats. I'm sure it's completely sanitary.
Nice photo-op

The famous Bridge over the River Kwae. You know, from the movie... and World War II.

There's a funky World War II museum next to the bridge. Lots of disorganized memorabilia.
